SCOPE Command is a highly-automated, cost-effective, global high-frequency (HF) communications network, providing ground and airborne personnel secure data and voice communications anytime, anywhere.
This HF communication system is the primary command and control resource for military air forces. SCOPE Command's Internet
Protocol-based architecture allows network operation from almost anywhere and interoperability with the Global Information
Grid (GIG). The HF radio equipment includes the Rockwell Collins Spectrum DSP Receiver/Exciter, Model RT-2200 and features
Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) which assures the best connections possible.
Rockwell Collins' SCOPE Command is the only HF system that provides a high degree of security by using virus protection, intrusion
detection, user identification and authentication and information technology security certification. This dependability, with
the seamless end-to-end connectivity, can be compared to a telephone service or e-mail. SCOPE Command's network consists of
14 worldwide HF stations interconnected through various military and commercial telecommunications mediums. Its open architecture
design permits flexibility to meet changing mission and force requirements, centralized network control using "lights-out"
station operation and cost-effective upgrades or network expansion.
SCOPE Command not only expands easily and economically to meet new HF mission requirements, but will also fulfill next-generation
mission roles. The open architecture and control software have built-in flexibility to add next-generation capabilities such
as multi-media and multi-band operations. Rockwell Collins' SCOPE Command has user-friendly operation and maintenance, as
well as outstanding reliability, meeting customers' requirements for 99.99 percent availability.
